Scream 8: Neve Campbell Confirms Her Return as Sidney Prescott After Franchise-Record Seventh Film
Sidney Prescott's story is not finished. On November 2, 2026, Neve Campbell confirmed in an Associated Press interview that she will return for Scream 8, the next installment in the long-running horror franchise. The announcement follows her comeback in Scream 7, which became the highest-grossing film in the series' thirty-year history. Spyglass Media Group is developing the sequel, with former Poker Face showrunners Lilla and Nora Zuckerman writing the screenplay. But major questions remain unanswered: the project has no officially announced director, production schedule or release date, and Campbell has declined to reveal what Sidney will face next.
