Netflix has given Haunted Hotel Season 2 a release date.
All eight episodes arrive October 9, placing the adult animated horror comedy comfortably inside the platform's Halloween-season programming.
Season 1 had ten episodes, making the new run slightly shorter.
Abaddon refuses to let Netflix announce the date normally
The first Season 2 teaser offers almost no conventional footage from the coming episodes.
Instead, Jimmi Simpson's Abaddon appears to hijack Netflix's own interface.
The demon pushes other shows out of the way, declares that he decides when he returns and turns a simple date reveal into another display of his ridiculous self-importance.
It is a very short teaser, so most of the season remains deliberately hidden.
What Netflix does make clear is that Abaddon remains central to the show's comic identity and that the hotel reopens on October 9.
The Freelings are starting to treat the Undervale like home
Netflix's new description says Katherine and her family are finally finding their groove as more paranormal trouble arrives looking for vacancies.
The larger question is whether a building this haunted can ever genuinely feel like a home.
That idea gets surprisingly close to what made the first season work.
Haunted Hotel can build an episode around demons, ghost hunters, cursed objects or apocalyptic cults, then quietly redirect the conflict toward grief, parenting, loneliness or the need to belong somewhere.
Nathan has more to carry after the Season 1 finale
Will Forte returns as Nathan, Katherine's dead brother and one of the Undervale's permanent residents.
His comic function is easy to understand: he is a ghost who behaves much more like an unreliable brother than a supernatural guide.
Season 1 eventually gave that setup a much heavier dimension when Nathan learned the painful truth surrounding his death.
That revelation gives Season 2 emotional material already embedded in the family rather than requiring the writers to reset everyone for another collection of monster stories.
Esther, Ben and Abaddon still make normal family life impossible
Natalie Palamides returns as Esther, whose relationship with the supernatural tends to involve considerably less fear than Katherine would prefer.
Skyler Gisondo is back as Ben after a first season filled with romantic disasters, cursed encounters and some extremely questionable social decisions.
Then there is Abaddon.
The former demonic force trapped inside a young boy's body spent Season 1 developing an inconvenient attachment to the family while remaining entirely capable of treating world destruction as a reasonable response to personal annoyance.
The new teaser suggests his ego has survived intact.
The creative team remains largely unchanged
Matt Roller returns as creator, showrunner and executive producer.
Chris McKenna, Dan Harmon and Steve Levy continue as executive producers, with Erica Hayes serving as supervising director.
Titmouse again handles the animation.
That continuity matters for a comedy whose tone depends heavily on timing. Haunted Hotel routinely moves from grotesque supernatural jokes to sincere family material without treating either side as a separate show.
Netflix renewed it almost immediately
Season 1 premiered on September 19, 2025.
Netflix announced Season 2 only one week later.
According to viewership figures reported around the new date announcement, Haunted Hotel generated roughly 1.8 million views during its opening week and appeared in Netflix's daily Top 10 rankings across 56 countries.
The fast renewal stood out in adult animation, where new series often struggle to get enough runway to build an audience.
A very short wait by modern streaming standards
Less than thirteen months will separate the two seasons.
That is unusually quick in a streaming environment where multi-year gaps between seasons have become common.
Netflix has not yet released a complete set of episode titles or detailed plot descriptions for Season 2.
The core voice cast is confirmed back: Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides and Jimmi Simpson.
Haunted Hotel returns October 9.
The Undervale has enough time to make the beds. Exorcising the rooms is probably less realistic.
