SND's current release calendar still lists Kaamelott – Deuxième Volet [partie 2] for November 11, 2026.
French theatrical listings including AlloCiné and Le Grand Rex currently show the same date.
As of September 11, there is no official announcement moving the movie beyond November.
The real delay happened much earlier
What makes the situation confusing is the enormous gap between the two films.
Part 1 opened on October 22, 2025. Part 2 will arrive on November 11, 2026.
That leaves one year and twenty days between two movies conceived as halves of the same second cinematic chapter.
When Astier discussed the structure earlier in development, he had imagined a dramatically shorter interval of roughly four or five months.
That would have kept the second movie close enough for the first to remain an immediate part of the audience's memory.
Alexandre Astier openly disliked the final schedule
Astier did not try to pretend the long wait was his preference.
Speaking to Première after Part 1 reached theaters, he said the November 2026 date was not the one he would have chosen.
His concern was not merely impatience. A gap of roughly a year risks making Part 2 feel like a separate sequel rather than the direct continuation of the same story.
He also acknowledged that theatrical dating and the commercial strategy around selling a movie are not decisions a director makes alone.
SND has held onto November 11
The distributor announced the date in August 2025.
SND's industry lineup from May 2026 still listed November 11, and the distributor's current public website continues to show exactly the same date.
That makes the unusual gap a deliberate release strategy rather than evidence of a fresh last-minute postponement.
Shooting two movies together does not require a distributor to release them close together. Marketing campaigns, competition and the studio's wider calendar can all push films into very different windows.
Both halves were made as one huge production
That is what makes the separation feel especially pronounced.
Astier shot the two parts during the same extended production cycle, lasting roughly eight months and around one hundred shooting days.
The project was divided because the Second Chapter had grown too large for a single feature rather than because Part 2 was conceived years later as a conventional sequel.
Part 1 sent the newly assembled knights outward on quests across and beyond Logres. Part 2 is intended to continue that same chapter.
A large returning cast is already confirmed
SND currently lists Alexandre Astier alongside Franck Dubosc, Christian Clavier, Audrey Fleurot, Alban Lenoir, Antoine de Caunes, Virginie Ledoyen, Anne Girouard, Jean-Christophe Hembert, Lionnel Astier, Thomas VDB and Sting.
The ensemble continues the films' strategy of mixing long-established Kaamelott characters with figures introduced or expanded during the cinematic era.
Franck Pitiot, who played Perceval, did not return for the Second Chapter production, an absence Astier has previously said required some rewriting.
Two months out, November 11 remains the date to remember
For viewers worried about another postponement, the current situation is straightforward.
Part 2 has not been pushed into 2027.
Its French theatrical release remains scheduled for November 11, 2026.
The frustrating delay Astier discussed is real, but it is not new: audiences have simply been living with it since the date was announced in 2025.
Arthur is still late by the schedule his creator originally wanted.
He just has not become any later this week.
