Perfect Liars will stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories beginning November 20, 2026. Amazon says the Alex Mírez story on which it is based has accumulated more than 140 million reads on Wattpad.
That number is more than an impressive line for a trailer campaign. It changes the economics of introducing the property. The characters already have readers, romantic allegiances and expectations long before Prime Video needs to explain who any of them are.
Jude Derry enters Tagus looking for evidence, not an education
Irene Balmes plays Jude, a new student at the exclusive Tagus university. She arrives with a concealed objective: get close to the Cash family and uncover the truth surrounding her brother's death.
Three brothers stand between her and that answer. Gleb Abrosimov plays Aegan, the calculating and charismatic eldest heir. Pau Simon is the more enigmatic Adrik, while Pablo Scapigliati plays the rebellious younger brother Aleixandre.
Jude's investigation inevitably becomes less orderly once personal attraction enters the equation. Revenge begins colliding with the Cash family's internal relationships, and each discovery threatens both the family's carefully protected image and Jude's own understanding of what happened.
Wattpad has already done part of the market research
Perfect Liars demonstrates why online fiction platforms are so useful to streamers hunting for adaptable young-adult properties. A conventional unpublished concept comes with questions about whether an audience exists. Wattpad can provide years of behavior before a studio commits to production.
WEBTOON Productions is involved in the adaptation rather than sitting outside the process. David Madden, Mar Vila Barcelo and Wattpad President Aron Levitz serve as consulting producers.
Federation Spain produces the film, with Juan Solá and Mark Albela credited as producers.

Jesús Colmenar writes and directs the movie after extensive work on Money Heist. Ángela Armero co-wrote the screenplay.
The trailer is not shy about the material's young-adult thriller identity. Tagus is built around privilege, expensive spaces and social power, while Jude moves through a family whose polished exterior is increasingly incompatible with what she discovers.
Asier Etxeandia plays Adrien Cash, and Irene Ferreiro joins the ensemble as Artie.
Prime Video is increasingly treating established fandom as infrastructure
The service has been building a wider international slate around romance and young-adult adaptations, including titles whose readership existed long before their screen versions. Perfect Liars fits especially neatly into that strategy because its audience was born online and was international from the beginning.
That gives Prime Video a valuable launch advantage. It also gives the production a problem that original films do not have: millions of readers already possess a version of these characters in their heads.
The adaptation therefore has two jobs. It needs to work as an accessible revenge thriller for viewers who have never opened Wattpad, while convincing existing readers that this Jude and these Cash brothers belong to the story they helped turn into a phenomenon.
Prime Video gets its answer on November 20.
