Horror anthology created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, with its thirteenth installment bringing characters and storylines from several earlier chapters together in a new supernatural crossover.
American Horror Story: 13 is turning out to be more than an anniversary-season reunion. With its first three episodes now released, Ryan Murphy says the new installment was designed as a concentrated dose of the show's earlier DNA. Murder House, Coven and Hotel are the three reference points he names most clearly. One major Hotel figure, however, is absent: Lady Gaga is not part of Season 13.
After twelve installments spent changing houses, decades, monsters and occasionally its own rules, American Horror Story is finally doing something more dangerous: putting its history in the same room. Season 13 premieres September 24 with Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts and a collection of characters the anthology once left behind.
