The new Carrie trailer spends surprisingly little time pretending viewers do not know where this story eventually goes. Mike Flanagan is more interested in the buildup: a sheltered teenager entering public school, a mother whose idea of protection is inseparable from control, cruelty becoming viral content, and telekinetic power arriving inside someone who has been taught to fear almost everything.
