Sweet Magnolias is ending after five seasons, but Netflix is keeping its creative formula alive
Netflix is done pouring margaritas in Serenity, but it is not moving away from the kind of television Sweet Magnolias helped define on the service. The series has ended after five seasons, while showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson is already setting up Ladies of the House at the same streamer with JoAnna Garcia Swisher producing. One show is gone; much of the creative logic behind it is staying.
