Quentin Tarantino Says He Felt He Was Letting Brad Pitt Down by Handing Cliff Booth Sequel to David Fincher
Quentin Tarantino has revealed that his biggest concern when he declined to direct The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth was disappointing Brad Pitt. In a new Empire interview reported on November 4, 2026, the filmmaker explains how Pitt's enthusiasm for returning to his Oscar-winning role helped lead to David Fincher taking over the project. Tarantino wrote the screenplay but chose to preserve his planned tenth and final directing credit for a different story. Fincher's film opens in participating IMAX theaters on November 25 before arriving on Netflix on December 23.
