Palworld is no longer simply a hit survival game surrounded by merchandise. Since July 30, the franchise has had its own physical trading card game, and Bushiroad is already constructing a competitive calendar intended to lead toward its first world champion.
Palworld 1.0 managed to recreate some of the excitement surrounding the game's original 2024 explosion. One month later, Pocketpair faces a less spectacular but essential problem: how to keep feeding an enormous game without turning every new version into a permanent race for more content.
Palworld 1.0 now contains enough substance to exist beyond the comparisons that made it famous. Its Pals and sandbox have genuine personality; its story and especially its tone are far less confident. The collision between affection, exploitation and black comedy is clearly part of its identity, but intention alone does not make that collision coherent.
