Silent Hill: Townfall — St. Amelia carries a tragedy larger than its hero

By Yasmine

Townfall succeeds because St. Amelia never feels like a temporary Silent Hill backdrop. Screen Burn gives it a history, a community and its own forms of responsibility. Simon is the weakest narrative link, but Zoe, Richard and the town itself give this Scottish tragedy enough identity to live beyond its references.

PROS

St. Amelia is an unusually detailed and convincing setting
Zoe and Richard substantially deepen the central tragedy
Psychological horror is connected to social themes without losing its personal dimension

CONS

Simon is less memorable than the supporting cast
Pacing stretches too far in some sections
