There is no official premiere date for Reacher Season 5 yet. Production is still underway. None of that has stopped Prime Video from ordering Season 6, giving the series another renewal before viewers have seen a single episode of the season immediately preceding it.
The timing becomes easier to understand alongside Amazon's latest audience figures. The company says Season 4 reached 66 million viewers globally during its first 28 days and ranks among Prime Video's five most-watched original series seasons under its measurement. Season 4 concluded on September 16.
Season 5 still has plenty of work ahead
Production on the fifth season began in Ontario in July 2026. Alan Ritchson returns as Jack Reacher, with Amanda Ip joining as Michelle Chang, Jay Baruchel as Chief Buck Bauer, Ciara Bravo as Eunice and Kevin Durand as Nokes.
The source material is already confirmed. Season 5 adapts Make Me, the twentieth Jack Reacher novel by Lee Child. The story brings Reacher to the strangely named town of Mother's Rest, where he joins a private investigator searching for a missing person. The investigation opens onto a much larger criminal conspiracy.
What Prime Video has not announced is a firm Season 5 release date. Any specific 2027 window currently being discussed outside the company should therefore be treated as an estimate rather than a confirmed launch plan.
Reacher is becoming a long-term Prime Video franchise
This is the second consecutive time Amazon has declined to wait for the next season before committing to another one. Season 5 was ordered ahead of Season 4. Now Season 6 has been approved while Season 5 is still being made.
That confidence also sits alongside a broader expansion of Lee Child's television universe. Neagley, starring Maria Sten, has given Prime Video a second series connected directly to Reacher. The original show can now move forward without carrying the entire franchise on its own.
Season 6 remains almost entirely undefined beyond the renewal. Prime Video has not revealed which Lee Child novel will provide its story, nor has it announced a release date. For now, the renewal settles one question well before Season 5 reaches viewers: Make Me will not be the end of Alan Ritchson's run as Reacher.
