Our review

Silo after three seasons: the truth moves slowly, but the descent is still worth it

By Yasmine

Silo remains one of recent television's strongest science-fiction dramas because revelation is never its only engine. The bunker works as a believable society, its characters survive major shifts in perspective, and Rebecca Ferguson gives Juliette a wonderfully physical stubbornness. Seasons 2 and 3 occasionally lose the near-perfect propulsion of the first, with detours, repetition and a habit of withholding answers a little too long. The third season ultimately turns much of that patience into genuine payoff. With one season left, Silo still has a lot to resolve, but it has increasingly demonstrated that the digging has a destination.

PROS

Rebecca Ferguson remains exceptional as Juliette Nichols
Dense world-building makes the silo feel like a society rather than a set
Production design, cinematography and atmosphere remain major strengths

CONS

Pacing slows considerably during stretches of Seasons 2 and 3
Some mysteries are extended beyond what their complexity really requires
