The Expanse Review: A Science Fiction Epic That Never Forgot Its Humanity
The Expanse is one of contemporary television's outstanding science fiction achievements. Its greatest strength lies not merely in its spacecraft, battles or convincing technology, but in its ability to make enormous political conflicts meaningful through deeply human characters. The Rocinante crew, Avasarala and Drummer bring exceptional depth to an expansive fictional universe. Its demanding opening and incomplete treatment of the larger alien mysteries prevent a perfect score. Across six seasons, however, the consistency, ambition and emotional intelligence of its storytelling fully justify a 9/10.
