Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Turns Four Destinies Into a Deliberately Excessive Epic

By Vever

Fortune's Weave rediscovers one of Fire Emblem's greatest narrative strengths: depicting conflict through characters whose interests do not naturally align. Its four-hero structure offers multiple perspectives on the same world and lets those trajectories echo each other before they converge. Not every element is equally necessary—Eshmel can feel layered over protagonists who were already capable of carrying the story, and the huge volume of material slows some arcs—but the result still has the scale and momentum of a genuine saga.

PROS

Four protagonists provide genuinely different perspectives
Route switching avoids forcing four repetitive standalone campaigns
A remarkably generous world and supporting cast

CONS

Eshmel can feel unnecessary beside the four established leads
Pacing loses focus in later stretches
