The Gentlemen will return for Season 3. Netflix has confirmed another eight episodes, with creator Guy Ritchie set to direct again and continue writing the series with Matthew Read.
The timing is as important as the renewal itself. Netflix committed to the third season before Season 2 premiered, giving the series another run without waiting for several weeks of public performance data from its latest chapter.
The Gentlemen is becoming a television franchise in its own right
Season 1 began with Eddie Horniman discovering both a dukedom and a cannabis operation buried inside his inherited estate. By Season 2, the reluctance is largely gone. Eddie has embraced the possibilities of criminal power and wants to expand.
Ritchie has described the show's ambition as accelerating, its world as expanding and its consequences as carrying more weight. From that perspective, he said a third season felt inevitable.
That language also reflects how far the project has moved from being a television extension of Ritchie's 2019 film. With multiple seasons and an increasingly independent ensemble, the Netflix version now has its own momentum.
Season 2 pushed the operation beyond the English estate
All eight episodes of Season 2 have been streaming since September 3. The story picks up a year after Eddie and Susie Glass joined forces, with the pair trying to expand Bobby Glass's empire internationally and establishing operations around the Italian lakes.
Theo James and Kaya Scodelario return as Eddie and Susie, with Ray Winstone back as Bobby. Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones and Giancarlo Esposito also return.
The new ensemble includes Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Michele Morrone, Sergio Castellitto, Amra Mallassi, Tyler Conti, Chris Eubank Jr. and Maya Jama.
Season 3 is confirmed before all of its pieces are in place
Netflix has not announced a release date for the third season or a complete new cast. When the renewal was first reported, the season was still in pre-production and scripts had not yet been finalized.
That distinction matters because speculation about potential additions to the cast has circulated alongside the renewal. For now, the confirmed information is narrower: eight episodes, Ritchie returning and another expansion of the series on the way.
It also fits Netflix's wider UK strategy
The Gentlemen was renewed alongside a larger group of UK titles, with Netflix also confirming returns for House of Guinness, Legends, Being Gordon Ramsay and Formula 1: Drive to Survive. Other British productions including Black Mirror and Supacell are continuing as well.
The Gentlemen sits comfortably inside that strategy. It carries a recognizable filmmaker, an international cast and a crime world that can expand geographically without abandoning its central identity.
Eddie wants more. Netflix has now given him another eight episodes to find it.
