MobLand begins its second season globally on Paramount+ on September 18. The ten-episode run will release weekly on Fridays rather than arriving as a full-season binge, with the finale scheduled for November 20.

Tom Hardy returns as Harry Da Souza, the fixer trying to keep the Harrigan criminal operation functioning. Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren are back as Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, leading a family whose internal structure is becoming almost as dangerous as its outside enemies.

Paramount+ renewed it before Season 2 produced a single new audience number

The most revealing development happened on September 3. Paramount+ officially ordered Season 3 two weeks before the new episodes premiered and confirmed that Hardy, Brosnan and Mirren would all return.

That means the renewal was not waiting on opening-weekend performance or completion rates from Season 2. The service had already seen enough from the property to commit to its future.

Season 1 gave Paramount substantial evidence. In June 2025, the company said MobLand had reached 26 million viewers worldwide and ranked as its second most-watched original series behind Landman, according to Paramount's internal metrics.

Season 2 starts with the Harrigans struggling to look like a family

The new episodes pick up with the criminal empire under pressure from both directions. New rivals are moving against the Harrigans while fractures inside the family make it increasingly difficult to present a united front.

Harry remains the person expected to solve those problems, even as the distinction between an external threat and a family problem becomes increasingly useless.

Hardy has described the second season as an opportunity to widen the focus after the first run established the central players. With the characters already defined, more of the ensemble can now carry individual storylines and conflicts.

Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Janet McTeer and Toby Jones return. Johnny Flynn and Ophelia Lovibond join the cast.

Johnny Flynn gives Harry another problem to manage

The Season 2 campaign has placed particular emphasis on Flynn's new arrival, Frankie. His presence adds another disruptive force to a London underworld already struggling with shifting alliances.

The official trailer has Harry describe the Harrigans as being in a “death spiral,” which is a useful summary of the season's larger problem. This is no longer simply a family expanding its criminal territory. It is a family trying to stop power from tearing its own structure apart.

That gives MobLand an increasingly dynastic shape. Territory and violence remain essential, but questions of succession, loyalty and control now sit alongside the gangster mechanics.

Paramount+ is treating MobLand like a durable asset

The show fits neatly into the streamer's strategy of concentrating attention around recognizable, returning originals with international reach. It has a star-driven cast, a flexible crime-world premise and enough supporting characters to expand without completely rebuilding itself every season.

Locking Hardy, Brosnan and Mirren for Season 3 gives that expansion a stable core.

Paramount+ has not announced a premiere date for the third season. For now, the ten-episode second run begins September 18 and continues through November 20.

The Harrigans already know another season is coming. Surviving long enough to appear in it is a separate problem.
